Second Episode
Miaka follows Tamahome in the town but he keeps on
ignoring her. She caught his attention when she
accused him of doing something like selling women. He
carried her far from those people in the town. That
day, Hotohori, the emperor, was on parade. Miaka had
an idea that if she asks for a gem he would give her
one. But before she could reach the emperor, the
guard pushed her away in the direction of Tamahome.
Miaka started to fade away then she disappeared. She
was thrown in a dimension she’s not familiar with and
she saw Yui reading the book back at the library.
The same bird brought her back in the arms of
Tamahome.
They were both captured and placed on a
dungeon. Miaka ate a piece of chewing gum and blew
it till it ruptured in her face. This frightened the
dungeon guard, which made him throw the keys.
Tamahome grabbed the keys. He looked at Miaka and he
had the same facial expression as the guard, his eyes
protruding and acting like he saw a ghost. They freed
themselves and Miaka gave Tamahome the rest of her
chewing gum. In the hallway, they entered a room and
found a golden statue of Suzaku, the guardian of the
Eastern part of the world. As Tamahome was giving
Miaka and introduction about Suzaku, Miaka was busy
following the aroma of the food in the kitchen. After
her hearty meal she realized that she lost Tamahome
and began to panic. In the process of looking for
Tamahome, she found a ‘beautiful woman’ who offered her
protection. Tamahome and Miaka were cornered by the
guards. Then this ‘beautiful woman’ appeared once
more and all the guards ceased cornering them and
bowed to their emperor, Hotohori. She couldn’t believe
it. She touched and felt the chest of Hotohori.
Nothing’s there. The emperor pronounced Miaka as the
“Maiden of Suzaku” his loyal subjects now show their
respect to the maiden by kneeling.
