Twentieth Episode
– A HOPELESS DREAM –
Miaka was waiting for Tamahome in their meeting
place for the second time in her wounded condition.
While Chichiri was in the form of Nakago roaming
around the palace searching for Tamahome, his disguise
was busted. In a corner, not far from his position,
the real Nakago was talking to the guards who
previously captured Miaka. The guards chased the
super deformed general. He came back to the place
where he left Tasuki and Miaka. He found Tasuki
fastened at a pillar. They hurried back to get
Miaka. At the rendezvous point, Tamahome came out
of the bushes at Miaka’s back. He hugged her from
behind and made a lame excuse for hurting her back
there. Miaka soon discovers his plan. He wanted to
find Chichiri and Tasuki so that he will be able to
dispose them at the same time. Miaka won’t yield and
she tried to persuade him by showing his love letter.
She hoped that it could bring him back to her. He
took it and read it. Immediately he tore it to
several tiny pieces. Miaka gave up on Tamahome. She
realized that he was in a deep spell – she can’t
retrieve him. Nakago and Yui were watching them from
a cliff not far from them. Tamahome started to attack
Miaka with his weapon. Tasuki to the rescue….. The
two Suzaku warriors started to fight… Nakago unsealed
their powers. He told Yui of the power of the
medicine. It has sorcery in it. It changes the
personality and erases the memory of the one who took
it. In the heat of the fight, Chichiri was surprised
to see that Tamahome’s seal wasn’t showing itself even
though Tamahome is fighting. He tried to make a
portal but Nakago sensed it and seal the palace. He
was only able to make half of the portal and he was
able to talk to the rest of the Suzaku warriors with
the help of Mitsukake’s cat. Nakago was looking for
Chichiri and Miaka. He was aiming at several
directions. The rest of the Suzaku warriors focused
their powers at the sound created by Chiriko’s flute.
They were able to make the rest of the portal for
them. Miaka, Chichiri and Tasuki were able to
escape. Miaka bid him farewell. Tamahome’s eyes
started to shed tears all by itself. Nakago couldn’t
believe that Tamahome’s feelings were still deep
within him.
