In these last summer vacations, I did my interenship in the ATCO LABORATORY (AL). AL is a local company and is located in the site area of Karachi. This company has round about 200 quality products that includes tablets, syrups, ophthalmic preparations etc. This company is dependant on some various companies for the shipment of its raw material.

On Tuesday; 29th of June 2004, I joined AL. Firstly I went to QC department where the products from manufacturing departments are analyzed for their quality according to their SOPs ( Standard Operation Procedures ). I personally analyzed their products and utilized the UV machine i.e., Photospectrometer.
After QC, I joined the dispensing room, where the raw materials arrive. In the dispensing room all the Manufacturing orders ( MO ) are issued according to their batch requirements. That means that a Sterilization Incharge issues the MO for all the tablets, syrups, creams and ointments.
After dispensing room, I then worked in the Production department where I joined every section i.e., of tablets, syrups etc. In production department I saw procedures of manufacturing of different products and learned how the pharmaceutical products are made. While there one must follow the GMPs ( Good Manufacturing Practices ). There should be no contamination added from your side, sterilized clothings and shoes are things that you must have once inside the industry. Most important is time punctuality.

After completion of my four weeks interenship I left AL with a lot of lessons in my mind.

Now, after I have done my internship, it is crystal clear for me how much important is it to understand things than to comprhend them. Plus my belief in time puntuality was also strengthened more.Dear Pharmacists! my message to you people is : -
" Memorize and understand things rather than comprehend or "rattafy" them, for that would be extremely fruitful and helpful for you".
