Delhi

• Delhi is really a city of contrasts. - Ajit
• There are several areas like Rastrapati Bhawan, Gandhi Samadi, Birla Mandir and Red Fort which are rich in art. - Shankar
• At the same time slums were seen and there were some nasty smells. - Suraj P
• We could see people sleeping in the street. - Jhapindra
• The number of trees was high. In some places it was almost like a forest. - Laxmi
• Some buildings were so tall that we were unable to count the storeys. - Suraj P
• Delhi has one of the best medical colleges in Asia - the AIIMS: All India Institute of Medical Science. Every year 30,000 students compete for 30 seats. - Laxmi
• At Birla Temple I could see the written words of wisdom extracted from different books of Hindu religion on the walls of the temple. - Bidur
• Appu Ghar is really fantastic. - Ajit
• We enjoyed some fun-filled games and some spine-chilling rides too. The most frightful was Splash. From the height of about 100 metres we fell a fall of a cascade. The horrible fall ended in a terrible plunge into a pool. - Sovit
• The Lotus Temple was lotus shaped with 27 petals. - Sapana
• There are nine pools of water surrounding the temple, which help in the natural cooling system of the prayer hall. - Nitin
• I thought it was a temple with idols. It was not according to my imagination. It was a place for meditation. - Jhapindra
• We went shopping in Karol Bagh and I concluded it was full of cheats. - Kamal
• The delicious dish sponsored by the Principal is also memorable. - Shankar
• The most sophisticated hotel was the Royal Inn Hotel with a TV set, telephone set, air cooler, attached lavatory and bathroom and efficient servicing. Bhim

The Lotus Temple

Principal Sir, who was in Delhi for some official work, joined us in our tour round Delhi. Here he is seen with Sajal in front of Lotus temple. Principal Sir did not go inside the temple because he had already been there, while Sajal just felt lazy to go in.
