Child labour
Many children of Nepal, instead of pens in their hand and going to school, are in fields, using tools and in carpet factories. We should provide them caressing hands, proper instructions, good education and make them tension free. - Lalita
Equal rights
A sculptor in Nepal makes a sculpture of a god with much care and interest to put it in a temple. It’s tragic that he is not allowed to step into that temple to worship the god himself. It is thought that he will defile the god if he touches it, yet it is evident that he is the creator of the sculpture.
Nepal had provided equal rights to all her people, but it has not been put into practice. The declaration of equal rights is limited to legal papers only. In the towns the idea of an untouchable caste has been dying out, but in the country things are still not good. The presence of conservative and narrow-minded people make it difficult to change this system. - Bhim
Widows
When the husband dies, generally the wife is blamed for that. She gets scoldings and troubles from her father-in-law and mother-in-law. She is not allowed to take part in any village programmes. She is not allowed to do anything on her own.
To utilise the manpower fully, to maintain good conditions in the house, to give equal rights to all people and to accept development in the society, the widow should have the right to remarry if she desires.- Laxmi
