Here we will visit the beautiful campus of the
University of Maryland.

Next stop Annapolis, the Capital City
and home to the U.S.Naval Academy.
Annapolis is also called the
Sailing Capital of the world!

Our first stop will be the
the Government Buildings.

Built in 1788, the dome of the Statehouse
is held together with wooden pegs
reinforced by iron bands.
Designated a National Historic Landmark in 1968.

Government House.

This has been the official residence of
the Governors of Maryland, since 1870.

State Archives or, Hall of Records.

Dating from 1634, records of Maryland's
state and local government are kept here.

Old Treasury Building.

Built in 1729, this is the oldest public
building still standing in Annapolis.

Waterwitch Firehouse.

A treasure for any neighborhood!

The Chapel at the U.S.Naval Academy.

The Chapel cornerstone was laid in
1904 by Admiral Dewey.
Beneath the Chapel is the crypt of
John Paul Jones, noted Naval hero of the
American Revolution.

St. Johns College.

St. Johns is near the State House.
Two of its early graduates were
Francis Scott Key and a nephew of
George Washington.

Middleton Tavern.

In 1750, Samuel Horatio Middleton
took over this building from a Mrs. Bennett
and established an Inn for seafaring men.
Overlooking the City Dock, Middleton's Tavern
continues as a popular restaurant
and gathering place, today.
