Auto Assault is a new game to be released near the end of this year by NetDevil and NCSoft. In this game, you create a character from one of three different factions, whether Human, Mutant, or Biomek. Your character also has various skills, featuring such topics as combat training or knowledge of the theorem of creating new components for vehicles, and these increase with level.
Once you've created your character's appearance, faction, and skills, you then outfit a vehicle with various weapons and body options, then customize it with various "Tricks", or body modifications such as an Airdam or Spoiler, and "Trims", or custom paint jobs. After this, you are ready to take your vehicle out on the open road.
One of the greatest features, IMHO, of this game is the Havok 2 Physics Engine. This ensures that an object reacts in accordance with the pressures exerted. In other words, if you hit a given building a hundred times, the building will fall apart and dust will fly uniquely each time, given the slight differences and nuances of the various physical factors involved, such as orientation, wind speed, and structural stability.
I am very excited about the prospects of this game, and have developed a theme for windows based around it. You can download My Auto Assault Theme for your desktop. As with everything else about this page, I welcome any constructive criticism or suggestions regarding the site and the theme.
I encourage you to go to the Auto Assault Webpage for more information on this game, and perhaps become a Beta Tester as well. Given my association with City of Heroes, or rather addiction to, I plan to offer many more features to this site as the time approaches.
I have also started a guild for Auto Assault that spans all three races, called Code of the Road. Check it out by clicking on the banner below:
