Vox and Related Items from the workshop
I've given my AC30/6 the 'full treatment' Stripped down to chassis and re-plated in original cadmium finish then rebuilt replacing all electrolytics and out of tolerance resistors. All aluminium parts are hand polished. Albion transformer covers refinished in 'transformer grey'. NOS Mullards fitted. The LCR 16+16 dual cap has been removed seeing as it recently went short and almost set fire to my mains transformer. 22uF's are fitted inside
A fine combination from the year 1964. AC30 Bass (recently converted to Treble) and 1964 Rickenbacker export 325.
German made Klemt Echolette-5, fully valve early 60's vintage. As used by the Beatles in early performances. See workshop for more info on this.
My replica 50's classic microphone. The modern insert makes it quite useable.
60's Goodmans Midax horn speaker, as first used in Washington AC50 Cab. According to the 'Vox Story' these were installed to compensate for the AC50's lack in characteristic Vox 'chiming'. Interestingly the 'Trebax' was not chosen.
This speaker was an unusual find. It's a Rola Celestion 12U dated 1953 on the chassis, (which is identical to a Vox Bulldog). However, the magnet is quite a different shape to a Vox.
Here's a strange amp. The date on the Rola speaker is 1956. By the dual output tubes it looks to be a 15Watt system. Picked it up in a country pawnshop a couple of years ago for around $60.00.
Above is a Goodmans Audiom 60. These were used in Vox amps prior to Celestions. I bought this one for use in my early 60's AC15 project.
