Rosina Smart (Loydall )


Born in Jarrow , Durham on 1st October 1902. Her parents Marceline Emma Loydall and William Herbert Smart were music hall and variety Artistes. She was taken to Glasgow, Scotland at the Age of 6 months .She grew up in the Gorbals and she Always considered herself Scottish.She loved Scotland. She also became a music hall and variety artiste,but gave Up the stage when she married her second husband in 1938.
She married Bernard Mcmonagle at St Andrews Cathedral, Glasgow on 11th May 1921.Bernard sailed Back and forth to New Jersey on the “Columbia “ as assistant ships cook. During prohibition in the USA he became bootlegger and would take whiskey across.
They had twin girls in 1922
    Emily   and   Rosina
They both died within days

 They also had two boys

In 1928 Rosina had a baby girl that she named Jacqueline.
Jacqueline was adopted and called Jean by her new parents


She married William Charles Weaver on 25th August 1938
at Swan Hill, Bromley, Kent.William came from Merthyr Tydfil,
Wales,he was working as a chef at The White Hart Hotel when they
Met.When war broke out William joined The Royal Artillery and
Rosina moved to her mothers who was living in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
They had two children
Rosina Cecilia Poppy born 11th November 1938
in Farnborough, Kent.

Gwynneth Helene born 3rd June 1945
in St Albans, Hertfordshire
