HAMILTON TOWNSHIP - 1878:

J(ohn) H(enry) STAPLES:
Concession V, Lot 4
Concession II, Lot 14, (farmed by John FRANCEY)

T(homas) J(ames) STAPLES:
Concession III, Lot 3, 4

W(illiam) L(awson) STAPLES:
Concession III, Lot 4, 5, 6

These three were brothers of Marey FRANCEY.
T.J. and W.L. Staples probably held the 200 acres purchased by their father James Staples from King's College in the 1820s.

John LENT:
Concession III, Lot 18
(The owners of record for this land are M. Rosevear, Wm. Harper, G.H. Brown, J. Beatty, T. Gillespie and E.& M. Davey. There is a church and several residences on the north west corner. By this time John Lent would be 76 years old and probably retired from farming.)

CLARKE TOWNSHIP - 1878:

Charles LENT:
Concession II, Lot 18

Marcus LENT:
Farmer and Sawmill Owner
Concession III, Lot 15

Orlando M. LENT:
Concession I, Lot 16

(I believe that these three were the sons of Callahan LENT, the fourth child of David and Ruth LENT)
