Operating costs authorized by the Board in the minute books of the Sylvan School District # 1739.

School usually opened in April. The Board sat as a Court of Revisions and the mill rates were set.
The biggest cost was always the teacher. Since the Education Department set the rate and usually only allowed Boards to hire teachers trained in the Provincial Normal School system, it was pretty hard to fudge this figure.
The major cost from 1931 - 1935 was the tuition paid to the Rexboro School District to educate the children.
Transportation fees at the rate of $25.00 per year were paid to E.J. Woollard.
