T.J. Dwyer, Esqre.
Inspector of Schools - Edmonton
Sir
I am writing to Mr. Brooks, our School Inspector. - The McGuire Family, who lived at Lac St Anne last Winter and attended that School, are now living in this District. Their home is seven miles from Wabamun, but only about three miles from Lac St Anne, if a bridge is built across the big creek.
This, the resident Taxpayers are doing this week, to save expenses. -
I suppose there will be no difficulty in these Children continuing to go to Lac St Anne School, if we pay to that Board the regulation sixteen dollars a year for each child. Will you kindly write me, at once? Shall I write to their Secretary - Mr. Stephenson, or will you fix it up for us? Ours is a very poor, thinly populated district.
Yours faithfully

Sir
re the education of the McGuire Children
Since I wrote you last Thursday I have received a letter from Mr. Stephenson (Sec. - Treas. of the Lac St Anne S.D.) informing me that his Board agrees to educate these children for a time, we to pay 30 cents a day up to $16.00 a calendar year, for each child.
I enclose copy of my application to the Lac St Anne Board, Mr. Stephenson's two letters and the draft agreement form sent by him to me - which kindly return.
In the event of an agreement between us of course the "up to $16.00 a calendar year for each child" will have to be inserted.
Yours respectfully

Mrs. James McGuire
Madam
Our Chairman, and Mr. Adamson, called on me today. I showed the a/c for $16.00 sent by the Woman who, it appears, boarded your 2 children 8 days. This a/c they do not acknowledge and they instructed me to send a cheque, to you, for $8.00 i.e. one dollar a day.-
I am today also sending a cheque to Mr. Stephenson for the 8 days School fees. -
Yours respectfully
Thomas Street
P.S. Please acknowledge cheque

Mr. Wm. Stephenson
Sec.Treas of Lac St Anne S.D. #29
Sir
I received yours of the 1st inst., and consulted our Chairman; who instructed me to send a further $2.40. Your letter of Oct 11th read: -
"Mrs. McGuire has taken her children away from this S.D for the present, therefore your S.D. will be in our debt $2.40, that is at the rate of 30 (cents) per day"
I sent the $2.40 to clear the debt. It was not my mistake. - Hope matter is now OK.
Kindly acknowledge this second cheque.
Yours faithfully

Sir
re the McGuire Children
I was informed by the Lac St Anne Sec.-Treas. that one of these children is again attending their School; although, previously, just because Mrs. McGuire could not have her own way as to her children being boarded & lodged by my Board, she took her children away after attending 8 days only.
I have just mentioned the matter to our Chairman, who, naturally considers that our offer of $1.00 a day for the Pony, became dead when she Kept her children at home; thus refusing our offer, which had received your approval. I presume, however, that we shall have to pay the School fees, until our own School is operated.
Yours respectfully

2)
re the McGuire Children
P.S.
This is the Woman who says we are now building our new School too far away from her home and that she may just as well send her Children to Lac St Anne. I am informed that our School will be two miles from her by foot-path, 2 3/4 miles by trail.
It is obvious that no School can be built close to everybody in this Country. - The McGuires happen to live the extreme end of our S.D. next to the Lac St Ann S.D.
