I have a special attachment to this particular music. If I can step back and view the world as a whole and all the special things that have happened in my life time, Then I have a full appreciation of how much indeed "What A Wonderful World" this really is. It is not without problems and difficulties. It does, however, have certain qualities and individuals who strive and succeed at keeping the balance of life tilted towards a postitive trend. May this always be true
..........The Serenity Prayer...........
GOD, grant me the serenity
to accept the things
I cannot change,
Courage to change the
things I can, and the
wisdom to know the difference
.
Living ONE DAY AT A TIME;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardship as the
pathway to peace.
Taking, as He did, this
sinful world as it is,
not as I would have it.
Trusting that He will make
all things right if I
surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy
in this life, and supremely
happy with Him forever in
the next. Amen
Reinhold Neibuhr-1926
We live in a world of trials and tribulations faced by each individual, each day and each to its own unique importance. If I were to say, "My problem is greater than yours," it would be to disavow empathy and lack of understanding for your difficulties. I would know not what you have lived through. I know not what you will face, nor I for that matter. Each person can only make that determination for themselves. We all need to understand that life presents us challenges and obstacles. We need to look to a Higher Power to help us evaluate, calmy look at the choices and determine what is within our own control to change. Without that control, it is futile and frustration sets in. Some things, no matter how bitter or painful must be accepted because it is how things are.
Life's Longevity
To be born so soon and die so late,
to see all that can be seen is but our fate.
It carries with it life's strange gain,
that which comes with collective pain.
To be born before the century's turn,
a life so full and rich to burn.
A length of time which many yearn,
gave her grieve but not to spurn.
Wars which came and wars that left,
life's hard times that paid their debt.
Children born during times of strife,
gave but purpose to her life.
Pride in her family was equal to none,
though her work seemed never done.
To stand by the side of a family grave,
when so young yet be so brave.
One by one to mark life's time,
family and friends are left behind.
Happiness and joy were always clear,
yet quickly the tears of joy but disappear.
To take their place it seems unfair,
are tears of sorrow ever there.
Such is the reality of a life so long,
a life in which is played a bittersweet song.
To be born so soon and die so late,
to see all that can be seen is but our fate.
In life so sweet and life so fair,
never let ours be in despair.

Melody of Life
A melody haunts me to this day,
its strains run through me sad and gay.
A melody haunts me through the years,
its constantly running through my ears.
To play the role for which I'm meant,
is often met with great lament.
Yet a joy I feel which fills my soul,
when at last I perch upon my goal.
From my head the memories chime,
a tune of visions in a better time.
A time which is clouded with grief and sorrow,
in hopes of creating a brighter tomorrow.
For after all, it tis without repute,
we all provide the sustaining truth.
The pain and joy of the melodic note,
provides direction to which we devote.
Cluttered thoughts race through my head,
driving me towards what lies ahead.
Reality cautions me there's no escape,
the time to live is upon this date.
The future comes to those who wait?
Without today there would be no fate.
Todays encounters control the mind,
upon which is based a better time.
So dear melody which haunts me to this day,
play a tune which bids me stay.
For life is sweet and full of tests,
but it fills the soul with eternal rest.

Days Gone By
To return to youth would not be great,
it would be a terrible fate.
memories have formed to cover the scars
I just live to gaze upon stars......
The stars in the heavens predict what's to come
I've learned much from days past and done.
I have no wish to return to the days of yore,
but it would be nice to fly and sore...
I look for the one to lift my wings
a person about whom the muses sing.
I want only to lie back and close my eyes
and be able to drift with the clouds in the skys.
The tears in my eyes are not that bad.
They are formed from memories of things I've had.
Once more I would dream to scale mountains high
Just to live in joy once more before I die.
I have no regrets to express of the past
only to move forward to make life last.
Life need not repeat itself and be renewed,
I can be content with joys created to be anew.....
The secret dear one is to move on hence
The hills and valleys are sometime fenced.
Travel across the land and fields together
Once you have joined in heart, it will be forever.
Tis agreed without a doubt in mind
The two of us are one in kind.
To blossom once more with would be so fine,
The harmony of nature is a tie which binds.
Encores are best in dreams so fine, (but better)
That the goal is reached in even better time.
