Subject: Fluff: (Poem) The Wolf Within

Yes, it says "Poem" in the subject line; and no, you are not seeing
things. The announcement of the Werefluff Contest inspired my muse to
write a poem about young Mitch, although I did not ahve the courage to
enter it and it did not really fit the category as Mitch is not allowed
to Run Wild Beneath the Moon. (Keep reading Jealous Moon fluff...
gratuitous plug). Also this does not quite scan, but I have sent it
priavtely to several fiends who have been kind enough to tell me they
like it, so here goes:

The Wolf Within

Silver tears flow from amber eyes;
Another full moon rides the skies.
The wolf within wakens, yearning
For the forest. With eyes burning
A young man kneels to plead
To a god who cannot heed
His prayers. It will come again,
The moon-cursed change--the pain
Ripping and tearing his limbs at will
As the wolf slowly emerges until
Nothing else remains. And all too soon
The caged beast howls at the unforgiving moon.

*sob* Please say you like it!

And congratulations to Hemogoblin on her victory.
