Words in Rhyme
I. Compassionate Arms
Somewhere distant a battle rages
Run by evil and his sages
But there is a general who dreams of birds
Who sing of melodies that cannot be heard
From their notes come the colors
Of red, green, blue and many others
They bring joy to many, sadness to few
Dreaming of happiness and something new
It is all within the grasp of reach
For feelings to erupt and emotions to breach
The outer wall; the last line of defense
Where troops stand tall, let the fighting commence
Love and Jealousy -- they collide
But Fear and Shame run and hide
Deceit and Truth, Guilt and Compassion
A war of the soul, they do fashion
Fighting continues until a victor is called
But by then all emotion have been mauled
The wounds heal and the hero remains
Possessing and trophy that he may claim
