08/01/2004: Well we had our 4th Birthday. The boys dubbed it the Swim Vacation because we took them to the Bavarian Inn in February and they swam the whole time, so they thought this would be the same. Phil, Amy and I dubbed it the drive vacation. Quick summary - Phil & I found what we thought was Six Flags in OH (little did we know Cedar Point bought Six Flags this year and where we thought we were going doesn't exist anymore). We drove 5 hours to Dublin OH, stayed in a dumping motel, got up the next morning to find clouds and rain. We were bummed but ventured off to "Six Flags" to meet Aunt Amy. We arrived at a Six Flags owned water park that looked dumpier than Four Bears and that the boys weren't tall enough to ride most of the water things. Aunty Amy suggesting going next door to the Columbus Zoo, but Phil was having none of that. He drove to OH to go on roller coasters and he sure well was going to do it!! So we got back in the car and drove 2 1/2 more hours to Cedar Point in the pouring rain!! An adventure that started out at 10:30 in the morning ended with us getting into the park at 5:00p - but hey, we got in for 1/2 price. It rained, poured actually, there was thunder and lightning, we all had to spring for sweatshirts - it was awful!! But when at 10:00 we were walking out of the park - soaking wet - Gabe and Ben made it a point to thank Aunt Amy, mom & dad for the "best vacation ever". So guess what - that made it all worth it!! 04/08/2004 Well it's been a long time. I was motivated after renewing a long neglected friendship with John Burnham. I told him I'd update the pages so he could see the boys, so now you all benefit from that. I'll try to be better, but I guess I say that everytime and then where does the time go!! About 2 months ago, we got a new kitten, her name is Cooper. She does not REPLACE Mr. Sassy, but she sure is a nice addition to the house!! She's fiesty, but she has to be, her best friend is a 90lb beast and the 2 boys
adore her, unfortunately I'm afraid she is going to end up with shaken baby syndrome or broken bones, they have not gotten the concept of "gentle" yet. She's a trooper though. Check out her pics. Well resume / interviewing time is coming again. Phil has some real good leads this year, but most districts are just waiting to see how badly Granholm is butchering their budgets for next year to see how many (if any) teachers they will be hiring. Say a prayer for us. He'll be finishing his Masters soon - 1 more class and his Masters Seminar. He met with his advisor and firmed everything up so we'll be done soon!! That's about it, the boys are like Mike & Sully (Monsters Inc) - sweet as could be, but monsters all the same. Enjoy the new pics!! |
