Gabrielle: ::Gabrielle looked down to the salad, pausing a few moments in thought about many things. Slowly did hand come up to grasp a fork, and begin eating the salad, leaf by leaf with a bowed head. It had been so long since she had a nice meal with her father. Would this be one of those long awaited times? Well, it could have been, if circumstances were different. At the present, she saw herself only as a prisoner of war. A well treated one at the very most. After a few nibbles of food, gabrielle placed the fork down to take a drink from the goblet of milk, and then resume her silent dinner..::
Gabriel: Gabriel sat across from her at the table, thumbing through his book quietly. Occasionally, dark eyes would come to gaze at her, watch her from time to time. Eventually he put the epic down and gazed at her. "Too bad we can't do this more often. Maybe ... if things were different, or maybe in the future?" He nodded to himself in his pleasant fantasy, words spoken silently in deep thought. "I suppose I should get you some new sheets to, or are you going to tear those in half as well?" He asked honstly, standing and walking around the table to her, placing a gentle hand on her shoulder. "I am sorry it has come to this." He mumbled quietly, trying to be as peaceable as possible.
Gabrielle: ::Gabrielle just sat there quietly, keeping her thoughts, and self silent in his words. . Then the fork was set down once more, to respond to his question:: .. No, I will not tear the sheets .. ::and then silence once more. Gabrielle wasn't one to speak in such a predicament, and simply returned to her task at hand.. eating her salad, and pausing between to drink some milk. Of course, she'd answer to his questions, and even some of his comments, but at this point, Gabrielle was just.. upset, and frustrated. . and wasn't all in the mood to be 100% cooperative.::
Gabriel: He didn't expect her to be anyways, but Gabriel was feeling pushed. Trapped between his love for his daughter, and his love for his wife. Both didn't seem to like him very much at the moment. Gabriel sighed, grumbled to himself and picked up his book again, picking up his place and reading on, waiting for her to finish. On top of that he wasn't feeling in top form lately. After reading a few more pages, Gabriel stood, moved to grab a wine glass and sat back down. Taking the wine from the tray he poured himself a glass, replaced the stopper and set it in it's original place. "Gabrielle, would you rather it of been me killed instead of Leeloo?" He asked curiously.
Gabrielle: ::Gabrielle finished her bite, just seconds before her father asked such a question.. blinking as she layed her head down a moment. What an interesting question, though completely unfair.. Gabrielle shook her head as she began to speak:: .. It isn't about who should have or could have been killed. . I'd rather *no one* have died that day.. Besides, It's unfair to ask such a question to me.. ::Gabrielle grasped the goblet rather firmly, as she took a large sip from it, and returned to eating, with a bit of a narrowed gaze into that food.. ::
Gabriel: He pouted. "Unfair? I suppose. Well, I am sorry for asking such a question then." He chuckled took a sip of his drink and leaned back. "I know you think I'm wrong, but tell me this daughter, what would you do in my position?" He wanted to hear this, maybe he was wrong but he never would give in to that. Not until the day he died, and he planned on having that date a long time from now. Gabriel watched her carefully. Quet, intelligent eyes waiting for a response.
Gabrielle: ::Gabrielle once again placed down the object in hand, to answer his question .. she had taken a deep breath, and hoped he would brace himself for what outcome she'd have for him:: In my position, had it been Michael that passed, I wouldn't have sought out vengeance. I would have simply brought it to the Gods with respect, I probably would have asked a few questions, but, to keep peace, continued on with my duties. The only reason we have such hateful, and wrong doing mortals, is because we, as angels, have neglected our duty to tend to them, to aid them in choosing the right from the wrong. . . instead, we sit here, fighting amongst ourselves over petty jealousy and anger... I never would have let that happen. Michael's death, in that scenario, would not have been in vain.. ::she nodded to herself, rather pleased with her response::
Gabriel: He smiled, he should normally of been insulted, become aggressive and cruel but instead he placed his hand in his chin and thought for a moment. "Do you think Leeloo's death was in vain? If so then let me tell you, I loved her more than you can imagine, and I don't want sympathy from the mortals, no I want something more. They should of known better, mortals are ignorant, aggressive animals and if something isn't done to corral them now their will be more of us to die. I don't want that, even if it was one of the protectors alongside you. No, if I could end this war, I would want to with as little bloodshed as possible between us.." He sighed, watching her carefully.
Gabrielle: ::Gabrielle shook her head as she listened to her father:: .. it's not about how much you loved her father. It's how much you believed in what *she* did. Mother went down there to help them, despite the known fact of how dangerous they were, she followed through on her duty. Time and time again she did this, with the belief that one day, if we all worked togeher, we'd be able to turn all the mortals with such sinful eyes and thoughts, good. I keep that very same philosophy today. Mothers work, lives through me.. ::she shook her head once more:: .. don't you see that? .. by fighting them, you only bring them closer to US.. you only bring them more and more hatred for us.. causing more and more death TO us. True, there is no escaping it, and we won't be able to save them *all* .. but, we *can* try!!
Gabriel: "Don't begin to lecture me." He grumbled to himself about that being a bit to late. "Alright, now let me ask you if you think I didn't believe in what she was doing? Do you think I found her cause wrong? I'm haunted by her wishes, I know she wouldn't desire what I do now, you are right. However, I will see punishment dealt, and I will teach them to bow to us no matter what it means. They had no right, and they have no right to think themselves stronger then we are. They are inferior in everyway, living uneventful pitiless lives day after day, ignorant to all taht go around them. They kill eachother more often then nought over simple things, nothing better then a pack of wolves. You know I hate this place, this...existance, I want more for my people, including you, especially you."
Gabrielle: ::Gabrielle shook her head firmly, as she stood. Obviously, this conversation was going to go in circles... and she wasn't truly in the mood to argue the entire evening anyways. Standing abruptly, as she looked to him somewhat angered.:: I will not argue this.. not again. I will not venture 'round in circles over the same conversation we've had eons over. ::Looking back the way they came, she sighed:: .. I wish to retire for the evening. . . ::Gabrielle stood there a good moment or two, awaiting not only his reaction, but his direction to where her room might be as well.. ::
Gabriel: He whistled loudly, and his servants were quick to work as he moved to her. Quietly he led her to the same room, with the same locks and chains. Everything was fixed and as they entered the servants left, not keeping eye contact with Gabriel as always. "I certaintly can't afford to get you a new room, the magics and locks in here took weeks to prepare. Now, I don't think I need to shackle you do I?" He watched her quietly.
Gabrielle: ::Gabrielle followed close behind and with the servants and her father. Reaching the room that was all too familiar to her by now.. shaking her head as she looked over to her father in response:: I have made a promise to you, one I intend to keep.. as it was made with my word. Though, I will keep to my heeds as well.. ::she kept a silent stare, of course, she was speaking of Raziel comming after her, and Michael comming for her.. ::
Gabriel: He gazed at her for a long moment, watching her as if he read her mind. "Do watch out Raziel, she threw me out of my own room a few nights ago in rage, shes mighty angry with you." He chuckled and gave his daughter a kiss on the cheek, before moving away and closing the door with a final goodnight. Gabriel grumbled to himself when the door was closed and sat down at the stairway, in deep thought, and expectation.
Gabrielle: ::as that door was closed, gabrielle moved towards the bed, to lay down in silent contemplation. Closing her eyes from time to time. Gabrielle would stay on alert tonight, watching that door with care, and keeping good ear out for Michael, who would most definitely be on the lookout tonight. At the same time that thought passed through, gabrielle felt a yawning come over her, as she covered it with soft hand.. Gabrielle could no longer hide how tired she was, and began to slowly drift off in slumber::
