The
firm “Gabro” was founded in1990 as a building firm. In the first
years of its development it was engaged in the construction of
numerous objects in Gabrovo, Sevlievo, Dryanovo and Tryavna as the
region's most renowned executor of flooring and lining work.
Several
new industrial objects were also put in operation. The firm started
performing complete execution of high-rise and low-rise objects. In
the following years it prove its abilities at important objects in
Gabrovo and the region. In 1994, it bought from the "Vissoko
Stroitelstvo" the former "Avtogarazh" site with an
area of 9 000 sq. m. Storage rooms with a built-up area of 9 000 sq.
m and vehicle scales were later established there. The vehicle fleet
and the machinery were increased in number.
A
substantial part of the firm's activities is the production and
assembly of metal products, including such of artistic and
decorative value. An electric furnace for the melting of non-ferrous
metals was fitted, and all necessary documents for it were issued by
the controlling authorities. The production of aluminium products
was introduced. a section for the production of aluminium profiles
for angle puttying.
In
1995, the firm also privatized 96.4% of the Territorial Design
Bureau of Gabrovo. the firm's trademark was registered and patented.
In 1996, the firm was re-registered as the joint-stock company
"Gabro". The company continually extends its activities,
executing orders on objects in the region and the country.
Since
1995, the firm has also performed commercial activities, connected
with building materials and tools. It is a distributor of one of the
largest producers of paints and varnishes in Bulgaria and is the
main supplier of natural facing and lining materials in the region.
In
April 2000, the "Gabro" AD bought 80% of the shares of the
"Kartal" AD.
