The Realist Party of Canada |
After Cameron Labs went under (and just before ICONA and Clickable Systems
International), Mr. McKinstry decided to try his luck in the political arena, a
field where megalomaniacs often abound. He went on Winnipeg Radio for three hours discussing his platform and agenda (among other things, Canada would be turned into 3 seperate states and each would be responsible for its own finances). After the show was done, the station recieved a flood of calls informing it of who this person really was. As it happens, he hijacked a gun shop in Toronto a few years earlier. There was a stand off with the police which ended in him getting tear gassed (More on this NEXT WEEK). Radio Host Peter Warren then called Mr. McKinstry who then went on the air again to admit to this little detail from his past. What followed is what you see below: Mr Warrens article for the Winnipeg Sun in January 14, 1994. |
What is fascinating is how short term the Medias memory is. Or is it just that no
one does research or background checks anymore? When ICONA came along, no one
brought up the Realist Party. Later, when CR6 arrived, no one mentioned ICONA. CR6 was even given coverage in the UPTOWN Gazette which before had covered ICONA. Both article over seen by then UPTOWN Editor, Chuck Molgat. Is Molgats memory short? Lesson - The Media is there to be used. It's their job to give you coverage, not question your integrity. They have white space to fill, and you have a story to fill it with. NEXT WEEK - THE TORONTO GUN SHOP STANDOFF!!! . |
