A Princely Contribution

Prince Charles visited Sabhal Mòr Ostaig recently and it seems that he has joined the fight to save Gaelic. He told the staff to take heart from the Welsh who have arrested the decline of their language. He is the Patron of the College and  was given clear evidence of an upsurge in Gaelic when he was greeted enthusiastically by a group of children from Sleat Primary school. Out of a roll of  77 pupils, 47 are being educated thru the medium of Gaelic.

There are also clear signs now, for the first time, that Official Status for Gaelic is now on the boards in Parliament House, Edinburgh.
