The German-Austrian Folk Dance Association 2002 Tanz Treffen was held April 19-20, 2002, at the Lancaster Liederkranz in Lancaster, PA. Details of the 2002 Tanz Treffen are given here as a guide in planning future Tanz Treffen.

Friday, April 19, 2002

6 pm - Registration begins

6 to 8 pm - German style dinners will be available (on your own)

7:30 pm - Folk Dancing to recorded music (until about 11 pm)

Saturday, April 20, 2002

8 am - Club opens for late registration, coffee, socializing

9 am to 12 noon - Dance Sessions (Instruction)

noon to 1 pm - Lunch at Liederkranz Club ($7 for lunch and refreshments during workshop, payable to Doris on site)

1 to 4 pm - Dance Sessions (Instruction)

6 pm - Dinner at Liederkranz (Pork Schnitzel Dinner with 2 side dishes, coffee, dessert and gratuities is $13; Bratwurst Dinner with 2 side dishes, coffee, dessert and gratuities is $10.)

7:45 pm - Auftanz/Polonaise/Grand March

8 pm to midnight - Festive Dance with the Walt Groller Orchestra
Breaks - Ehrentänze for GAFDA member groups and participation dances for all

Directions given at the Liederktanz web site

Directions from Lancaster: Take Route 283 West to the Salunga Exit. At the stop sign, turn left, traversing over Route 283. Turn right on South Chiques Road, traveling approximately one mile. The Liederkranz is located on the left.

Directions from Harrisburg: Take Route 283 East past the Mount Joy exits. Exit at Esbenshade Road, turning right at the end of the ramp. At the next intersection, which has a traffic signal, turn left onto Route 230. Proceed approximately one-fourth mile and turn right onto South Chiques Road, where the Liederkranz is located.
