BEHIND THE SCREENS

The first song GIRLFRIEND is aimed at the youth and their passions, says Shankar. The song has a '3D girlfriend' character which is animated by Marc Kolbe of TATA Elxsi labs. The "3d girlfriend" has been made to walk, chat, kiss and hug with them. The second song DATING has been picturised in a resort which has been made to look funky by art director Sabu Cylril. The third song ALE ALE is a special love song for which 62 camera units has been used to give a matrix effect which is technically called as "time slice". This song has been shot in Bride Stove Lavender Farm which is in Australia. This is the first time a film unit has been allowed to shoot in this fabulous farm. The next song BOOM BOOM has been picturised in a set created by art director Sabu Cyril. For creating this set he has used old car engines, old bottle pieces, bulbs, horlicks and boost containers. Added to this are the four boys characters who have been created through the computer. The next song BREAK THE RULES has been shot at the cricket stadium at kochi, using many cricket fans and outside the stadium using 500 proffessional dancers, each possessing a fiber drum. There were only 3000 spectators at the stadium but it has been multiplied by using computer effects. The last song THE SECRET OF SUCCESS is a stage song and is shot at the dark with brilliant lighting and Ravi K Chandran's excellent camera works. All over the film the cinematography by Ravi K Chandran is superb. He has tried to take the scenes in the most different angles, especially to give the floating effect he placed his camera on a small boat like thing and picturised some scenes in the songs DATING and MAARO MAARO. The editing by V T Vijayan is also good. He taken the pain to join the pieces of frames of all the cameras in the song ALE ALE where 62 cameras have been used for each 3 second scene(click here to see this scene). His editing style is the first of its kind in India because one can observe that a scene is normal and the not so important scenes are fast and slows down.
