Termite and Pest Control Facts

Termites cost Americans over $1 billion each year.

Termites consume not only the wood under your home, but any material containing cellulose, such as wood trim, wallboard, picture frames, furniture, etc.

Termites travel up to 150 feet from the colony, and they leave "scent trails" for other termites to follow.

Since they cannot tell the difference between wood in forests and the wood in your home, the threat of attack becomes very real.

Termites strike more American homes than fire; however, typical homeowners' insurance offers NO coverage against termites!

Ants are social insects and live in colonies that can number up to 500,000 ants.

When ants find a food source, they put down a scent trail so others can find the food.

Flea infestations can occur even when there are no animal hosts on the premises.  Racoons, squirrels or even rats and mice near the home can be hosts for fleas.

Fleas can be found on cats and dogs year-round, but are most common in hot, humid weather.

Rodents regularly gnaw on utility pipes and electrical wiring, which can result in fires, equipment malfunctions and power shortages.

Adult mice can pass through openings 3/8-inch wide.

Cockroaches generally prefer a moist environment and many species prefer a relatively high degree of warmth.

Some species of cockroach, such as the German cockroach, are smaller, making it easier to conceal themselves once they get into your home.
