Star child of the month
Our star child this month is Thomas, a three year old pre-schooler. Thomas started the daycare about 3 months ago, and I was a little worried because he did not want to leave mom's side and seem to have no interest in me. But Thomas is a very sweet little boy who has stole my heart. When you are hurt or crying, he will come over to you, give you a hug and say don't cry. Every morning he shares his favorite blanket with me by putting it over the both of our heads. Thomas the stars are shinning on you.
Good-Bye I would like to take this time to say good-bye to Shaela, who has been attending the daycare for almost 3 yrs. Shaela and her family will be moving to California this month. I will miss her and her family dearly, be safe and keep in touch.
Welcome I would like to welcome Donya, to our daycare . Donya is a 5 year old little girl who will be attending the daycare for the summer. Welcome!!!.
Rate Increase
There will be an increase of $5.00 a week added your daycare rate starting July 1,2001. If you signed on after February 2001, or if you are paying the potty training rates, this increase will not apply to you. This rate increase is due to the cost of living raise, and it's also the original rate that's stated on your contracts in which I dropped $5.00 in good faith.
Summer Camp We are now going into our summer program. This means that we will no longer be doing show-n-tell, learning letters, etc., we will now direct all of our activities toward a summer theme. Listed below will be an outline of our schedule, along with this we will still be doing arts and crafts, learning to tie shoes, write names and more.
Mondays............Movie Monday. Children will watch movie, have popcorn and drink. Wednesdays.......Wet Wednesday. Children will need swim suits, towels, and sun screen and will play in the sprinklers, and child size pool. Fridays...............Fun Fridays. We will be going on field trips. It will not be every Friday, but I will have permission slips for each trip, parent feel welcome to come along. If no trip is planned children will have cooking class.
Moving
As you all know, we are having a house built in Pebbles Crossing and will be moving sometime in November. Our house is exactly 5.8 miles from where I live now and will take less than 9 mins to get there. If you plan to move with me, and have not informed me yet, please let me know so that I will keep that space open for you. I will plan a date to pick up all the mothers to show them where our house will be located, and from there you can decide if you want to commute that far everyday. I will continue to bring the morning kids to school and pick them up. You have plenty of time to make this decision so don't feel pressured. Ms. Gail's Corner
Parents, I really enjoy working with your child although sometimes the children get a little restless by the end of the day, and begain to act out. I have but one solution to this and that's when ever you have a day off, or you get off early please try to pick your child up after nap time which is at 3:00pm. By this time they have spent 7 1/2 hours away from home, and it's the end of the day and all that's happening at daycare is snack time, finishing crafts from the morning and out side play. So they won't be missing out on anything, since all of our major activities are durning the morning hours. If your child is here by 8 am they are here in time for all of our morning rountines. By no means am I saying don't enjoy your day off, enjoy your day to yourself, and surprise your child by showing up early. This way your child will not get burned out with me, and will be happy to return the next day. This is only a suggestion. |
