The Gainesville Avengers founded our group in March of 2003 with a meeting of five local feminist activists in need of a progressive group that was broad, complex, and inclusive of our individual identities as they are centered in various combinations of lesbian, working-class, anti-oppression, and queer politics and identity. We also wanted to have fun and fuck shit up without having to ask permission first.
