I Ask

I ask God to watch over me

to hold me tight and not let me be

I ask God to hear me pray

and understand what I have to say

I ask God to cradle me in his arms

to keep me from the many harms

I ask God to hold my hand

to keep me from the sinking sand

I ask God to keep me safe from fears

so I do not shed the tears

I ask God to stay by my side

so I do not have to hide

I ask God to stay with me a while

so I can go the extra mile

I ask God to watch me sleep

so my heart I do so keep

I ask God to be with me in my day

so I can stay on my way

I ask God to be with me in my sorrow

so I can find a better tomorrow

to be with me for safety sake

so each day I get a new start

God and my angel talked one day

to make a plan to keep me on my way

God told my angel to watch me sleep

so my faith I shall so keep

God told my angel to keep nightmares away

so the pleasant dreams shall stay

God told my angel to be there when I wake

to keep me calm so I do not shake

God told my angel to spread a wing

as my heart tries to sing

God told my angel to watch for sorrow

if it happens then find hope to borrow

God told my angel to watch for pain

and protect me from the rain

God told my angel to watch for tears

and try to wash away my fears

God told my angel to watch for worry

to try to give me a happy ending as in a story

God told my angel to hold my hand

so my heart can strike up the band

God told my angel to stay by my side

so I do not go off and hide

God told my angel to watch me go on my way

so the peace I'll find in my day

God told my angel to keep me strong

so happiness will be my song

I feel great and wonderful today

I hope to find to stay this way

I enjoy every moment of this time

My heart feels like a great big chime

I take in all the sights around me

and know this is the way life should be

I enjoy every breath I take in

and I feel like I'm on my way to win

I enjoy the sun in its winter glow

and hope the day will go slow

I enjoy everything in my sight

and know that this is my God given right

I feel my heart is filled with great joy

and I feel like a child who got a new toy

the feelings of warmth is all around me

and this is something I like to see

I feel the peace that is within me

and enjoy this moment that was meant to be

I pray to God to stay this way

so I can enjoy every day

Our Angel

When life gets rough

we must stay tough

we have to hang on to the hope

as a way to continue to cope

we have to hold on to our dreams

and hope our heart feels the beams

we have to work to find the recovery road

so we can lessen the great big load

we need to wish upon a star

and hope recovery is not far

our guardian angel sits with us now

so we can find the what and how

our guardian angel protects us with her wing

until we find the way for our heart to sing

when we begin to find our way

we know our guardian angel is there to stay

our guardian angel will protect us in so many ways

so we can focus on our days

our guardian angel will not let us give in

so we will keep our faith within

we have to keep our guardian in our heart

and know that is where we must start

Pain in Me

I live with pain inside of me

I'm not sure why this has to be

I deal with mental illness every day

I wish I could stop feeling this way

some days my heart lets out a sob

and to look happy is a big job

I want to spend those days in bed

I do not wish to hear what's said

I wish I could find a place to hide

so I don't have to deal with what's inside

The thoughts go racing through my mind

I wish the peace I would soon find

when will the better days be in my grip

so the tears will quit the drip

I wish the peace I'd find within

so a new life I can begin

My moods go so up and down

all I seem to do is frown

Happiness I do so seek

so my heart will begin to speak

when I do find the road

I will release a great big load

My heart will find some relief

this is my strong belief
