The Cleric and the Mage

Your stone cold prince you couldn't betray
Though he left you standing, ready to die
Where did the time go? Where did his heart go?
You never could see the truth of him

So again you ask, you plead in pain and hope
"Are you going to leave me here again?"
His heartless eyes look upon you unseeing
But you lie and say there's sadness there

You can't accept the reality of life
Of who this great, yet incomplete man is
Quit lying to yourself, but don't become who you were
The marble princess with no fear

You want to reclaim him, to show him your way
But you are not the one to change him, child
Learn from this what you can, teach yourself
That one sided love has no hope in this world
