The Beginnings

The following two photos are of my new garage foundation (oh yeah, there's a going to be a house attached too). It will be 24' Wide and 28' deep, with two 9'X 8' doors, and a full walk-up storage area above. There will also be a door to the backyard. I will have room for all my automotive tools and equipment, and no longer be a slave to the weather determining when I can do an oil change. Since we've been living in our temporary apartment, I have had to pay a local garage to do brake jobs and exhaust work (stuff I could easily do if I had a place to do it and my tools were available). I have also put off stuff that needs to be done that doesn't affect the drivability or safety. The house is situated on 3.4 secluded acres in the woods of Ashford, CT.

UPDATE 2-15-05: Here are some newer pictures of the structure going up from late November. There is now windows and they are putting on the vinyl siding.

This is how the finished garage is being used now. It will eventually be insulated, sheetrocked, and have heat. For now, even in the coldest weather, this is light years beyond the times when all car work was done outside, weather permitting.
