It always bothered me that Captain Kirk and the Starship Enterprise never reached their destination. I really wanted to see that place called Boldleego that the Captain and his faithful crew were always looking for. Each day, as the show began and the Captain said "...These are the voyage of the Starship ENTERPRISE. Its five year mission to Boldleego, where no man has ever been before." my brain would begin to boil with curiosity. What would Boldleego be like?
Sadly enough, the Captain and his crew never made it to Boldleego. But still, to actually be able to travel out there in Space; to be able to reach beyond the subdivisions and the slums of the Earthbound people who slog daily through their lives in search of the dollar... That must be a wonderful life to live. At least, that is what I thought as I watched "Star Trek" when I was a child.
Well, we may not be able to transport up to a Starship via disintegration/reintegration processes. We may not be capable of traveling at warp speeds faster than the speed of light. We may not even be able to land a space-going vessel on Mars yet... But that does not means that we will not be able to do so in our FUTURE!
There is only one person that can say for sure whether or not we will be able to reach any of our dreams for the Future.
That person is YOU!
Twenty years is a Generation. It takes three Generations to change a Society completely. The fourth Generation often cannot remember the details of Life as it was during the first Generation's times. This is a normal sociological condition called the Generation Gap.
Why do these Generation Gaps occur? Because each new Generation dislikes the conditions in which they live. Each Generation seeks to improve its own way of Life while at the same time improving the future way of Life for its children. This creates a self-fulfilling prophesy of destruction for the elder Generations. The children grow up, become young adults; then, by the age of 35 to 40 years, they take control of the social institutions and governing bodies of their world. Their daily habits, their desires and dreams, and their sociopolitical systems of belief begin to forge a new way of Life for others to follow. In effect, the next generation [YOU] is determining the way the world will look, the way the people will interact, the way Society will be in the near Future.
However, that is not necessarily a good thing. Many governments, and many entire Societies, have crumbled and fallen because of a new Generation who took the reins of Life without proper preparation and guidance. Failure to pay attention to the past rellegates a Society to the sad fate of reliving History over and over again without resolution to its inherent problems. Failure to pay attention to present conditions results in the continuance of long suffered social ills. Failure to plan for the Future will result in an uncertain outcome.
For this reason, YOU must learn everything that you can about the past. You must also learn everything possible about the present world in which you Live. Furthermore, you must decide right now what you want your Future to be like. You must begin planning and preparing to exact a personal Force upon the soft clay that sits awaiting your sculpting hands! Our world will be what YOU Make Of It! Please do a good job of sculpting.
It is your choice. What will you make of your world? What will you do with your Future? Will you be a success or a failure?
It is my heartfelt desire that you and your companions who have survived this course in Introduction To Crime Fighting Science will choose to boldly go where no preson has ever gone before. I want you all to be great Successes.
I want for you to have a Successful Career. I want for you to have a Successful Family. I want for you to have a Successful Life. I want for you to achieve every single Dream that you imagine. I want for you to become the greatest Professional Crime Fighter that there ever was. That is My Dream!
It is with these few words that I pass the Torch Of Honor from myself to you as the Future Crime Fighters Of America. Go forth boldly into the Future. Prepare yourself well. Learn all that you can. Gain a full Understanding of all that you Learn. Apply what you have Learned and Understand to your Life and to the Lives of those around you. Inspire others to Learn, Understand, and Apply. Experience and Wisdom are the Key to SUCCESS. Experience is Learning from your own mistakes. Wisdom is Learning from the mistakes of others. HONOR is the mark of Professional Success, Familial Success, Life Success. HONOR is defined as the exhibition of HONESTY, INTEGRITY, FIDELITY, MORALS, VALUES, and ETHICS while executing steadfast and never-ceasing attention to DUTY. In your Life, strive always to have HONOR in dealing with yourself and others. May you have a wonderfully Successful Life!
