Welcome to another update page.

We've been really busy this year for fight season, and although we did not do as well as we had hoped, we did end the season on a winning note, more wins than losses.  Raulito asked for the end of the season off for vacation and since the birds were coming into a bad molt, we all agreed to stop the season a little early this year.

We also made the decision to take next year's fight season off.  It was a tough decision, but the right one for us all.    We have close to 20 one year old stags here at the house that need intensive training to get them ready for next fight season, and some are already being requested for sale.  Since we make no sales until stags are at "bull" stage, we are preparing these 15 to 20 young birds for the possibility of sale  close to  the year's end.  We also are preparing our breeders  for the upcoming breeding season.   Breeder pens, brooder pens, fly pens, as well as stag line "teepees" are in the process of being built, renovated, and restored.  We have alot of work to do around the house in the next 18 months (Ha Ha Ha).  For the next year, at least, we will be on our own as far as breeding and training.  There were a few disagreements as to the correct way to do things, and one of the partners was not pulling his fair share of the expenses, so the decision was made to each go out separate ways for one year and then join back together better and stronger for the separation.

This year's breeding schedule will begin at the end of September, and will include at least the following pairs, (as this applies to our house only)

1 pair pure Mexican Grey
1 pair pure (green leg) Leiper Hatch
4 pair Claret  to Leiper (2 cocks/4 hens)
1 pair Leiper to Albany hen
1 pair Albany to Leiper hen

We also are going to be doing more breeding of our own"JCAT" greys, we just aren't sure at this point how many pair to set this year. (Possably a new cockhouse strictly for the continuation of this line)

Our plans at this location, are to concentrate on the breeding and raising and to leave the actual fighting to the other partners for the next year or two at least.
Somehow, we ended up with a yard full of young stags and almost no hens, so we will be "trading" the other partners stags for hens to achieve our breeding goals for this year.  Don't think they'll be complaining too much about this trade, since they really don't like to do the "young bird" part of the business.  We do have a few Black-Eyed Brown/red hens that we plan to try crossing to our "Budda" Hatch.  As well as a "Doc" hatch stag that we would like to breed into our lines if he shows merit after this year.

IN the next week or two we plan on uploading a few more recent pictures of our birds, and welcome any input or questions regarding the sale or breeding of these birds.
