Japanese gamers were recently treated to the awesome news that a new Mario game is on the way for Game Boy Advance. This game is scheduled to be released in the United States June 11, the same day as the GBA arrives on U.S. store shelves . Remember Super Mario Bros. 2 for the original NES? Well it's back, and it's shaping up to be better than ever on Game Boy Advance. Mario, Luigi, Peach and Toad adventure through an incredible fantasy world on a quest to save the day, with little more than vegetables with which to defend themselves! The basic gameplay mechanics are the same in the Game Boy Advance version, but new enemies and challenges give the adventure a completely new feel. Before each stage, players can choose which character to control. Luigi can jump much higher than the other stars Unlike other Mario games where Mario defeats enemies by jumping on their heads, in this game Mario and pals have to pick up items and hurl 'em at their adversaries. Even enemies can be picked up and tossed across the screen! Each character has a unique set of strengths and weaknesses, such as Princess Peach's ability to hover longer than any other character. New enemies and items are scattered everywhere, and as the screens here and on the next page eloquently attest, the graphics have never looked better. As an added bonus, Super Mario Advance will also include a four-player game based on the original Mario Bros. game. Battle your friends to collect coins and kick Koopa Shells in this frenzied fight to come out on top. It's old-school gaming with a modern twist! Also a new Battle version is avalible. In this game, players have to collect as many coins as possible while dishing out attacks to other players as well as boss fights! Overall, the game should be on your want list if you plan to get a Gameboy Advance. |
