Final Fantasy 9
As a gamer that started out with Final Fantasy on the Playstation, the thought of a more classic feeling FF was interesting. They all said that the new character designs would be like back in the day, but to me it just seemed childish. They would have been much better off to have character designs like those in FFVII or FFVIII. They have been changing designs a lot though, 7 was anime and 8 was very realistic. The moogles in this one are used as save points and are also part of a large side-quest. The battle system has gone through a tweak or two as well. The biggest difference is that the weapons are like the jobs in the older games; the longer you have a certain weapon equipped, the more abilities you learn.
The biggest problems I had with this game was the lack of difficulty with the bosses, and the lacking story. I just didn't feel anything for the characters, except for Vivi. For the begginer this is a good game, but for a veteran looking for top notch I suggest you rent it first, chances are you will beat it before you have to return it.
I reluctantly give "Final Fantasy IX" 7.5 out of 10 moogles
