Spider-Man

Finally, this is the first killer spider-man game I can remember since back in the day on the Atari and Coleco. This game was developed by Neversoft, the people that brought you Tony Hawk's Pro Skater. Activision worked on it as well, a company that I have long admired. Well, now to the game Itself, storyline-excellent, voiceacting-excellent, graphics-excellent, FMVs-could be better, and gameplay-button mashing. The story line is like any old Spidey episode, somebody impersonating the Spider-Man with the help of alien symbiotes. Along the way he meets up with some old friends and foes, but I won't say, because that might give away too much. As for the gameplay, exlporation is a plus. In the very first level you get a chance to web-sling on over to the Fantastic Four's headquarters. I love looking around every level for the hidden comics, even worthless stuff, like the Hobgoblin's hideout. The only thing that really angered me was the camera, you couldn't change it, and it would always go to the last position you wanted it. The coolest thing was figuring out how beat up the thugs in creative ways, like throwing sofas at them or kicking them off the roof. Also, the different and crazy stuff you can do with your webbing is fun to tinker with. What I meant by button-mashing earlier was that if you don't catch an enemy by surprise, the fighting is basically that, mashing random buttons. This is a must-buy for any Marvel fan.

I give "Spider-Man" 8.5 out of 10 webbing cartridges
