Mass Combat Chart
This system works off of d100. The GM rolls and each
PC rolls. The GM's roll is subtracted from the PC's roll and the PC adds any modifiers
and then consults the chart.
Modifiers:
Add + 1 for every level of your character, +2 if a fighter type or +3 if a straight fighter or paladin.
Add + 1 for every + of a magical weapon or armor your character has.
Add + 1 for your “to hit” and “damage” bonuses from strength and specialization.
Add + 1 for every armor class point past AC 0.
Add + 1 if using a shield.
Luck:
Every character has luck points equal to an average of their dexterity, and wisdom scores plus their level. Player can use their luck points to modify as score by spending their luck points. Once luck points are spent they are gone until the battle is over or the GM resets them.
-50 to -45 Dead! A lucky shot takes your head off or a hail of arrows turn you into a pin cushion.
-44 to -40 Maimed! You were badly wounded in the fight and lost something…roll for random loss.
-39 to -30 Critically wounded! You are struck with a critical hit. 1-8 damage + critical hit.
-29 to -20 Wounded! Take 1st column critical hit. 1-6 dmg
-19 to -10 Knocked unconscious! A lucky blow knocks you out, spend the next 1-6 rounds out cold.
-9 to 00 Wounded! Take 4-24 pts of damage. You have an impressive scar.
01 to 05 Wounded! Take 2-20 pts of damage.
06 to 10 Wounded! Take 3-18 pts of damage.
11 to 15 Wounded! Take 2-12 pts of damage.
16 to 20 Wounded! Take 1-10 pts of damage.
21 to 25 Wounded! Take 2-8 pts of damage.
26 to 30 Wounded! Take 1-8 pts of damage.
31 to 35 Wounded! Take 1-6 pts of damage.
36 to 40 Wounded! Take 1-4 pts of damage.
41 to 45 Wounded! Take 1-3 pts of damage.
46 to 50 Wounded! Take 1 pt of damage. Ouch.
51 to 55 You defeat a minor enemy.
57 to 60 You defeat a minor enemy, add + 5 to your next roll.
61 to 65 You defeat a minor enemy, add + 10 to your next roll.
66 to 70 You defeat a minor enemy, add + 15 to your next roll.
71 to 75 You defeat a important enemy.
76 to 80 You defeat a important enemy, add + 5 to your next roll.
81 to 85 You defeat a important enemy, add +10 to your next roll.
86 to 90 You defeat a important enemy, add +15 to your next roll.
91 to 95 You lead a charge that breaks an enemy line, add +10 to your next roll.
96 to 100 You square off with a major figure. i.e. a general or lieutenant of note. Single combat.
101 to 105 You get a hold of your sides standard. -5 from your rolls until you lose the standard.
106 to 110 You capture the enemies standard, -10 from your rolls until you lose the standard.
111 to 115 You stumble upon a nice looking weapon left on the battlefield, it’s magic.
116 to 120 You find yourself positioned to flank some enemy archers or other unit.
121 to 125 You are in the middle of a killing frenzy when suddenly the numbers clear and…..
126 to 130 Somehow you find your self at the enemies rear…..
131 to 135 A fierce blow send you into a fury, add + 20 to your next roll. Take 1-8 pts of damage.
136 to 140 You find you self just a scant few yard from the head of the enemies army.
141 to 145 You find yourself face to face with the head of the enemies army.
146 to 150 By some strange event of luck, you find yourself behind the head of the enemy army.
