Eyed Ogres have respect for strength and power as well a grand displays of magic. These creatures are strong and fierce fighters and can be very deadly if given the opportunity.

Battle tactics:

Eyed Ogres are not tacticians, they tend to attack an enemy on sight, only making a priority if ordered to do so.   They do understand the use of ambushes, and can plan skilled surprise attacks. As well as ambushes, they are skilled at tracking and trapping-this coupled with their excellent vision make them superb huntsmen. Eye Ogres are able to see in all directions and are thus able to make attacks to their rear with great accuracy. It is nigh impossible to sneak up on an Eyed Ogre, they are able to take in all the information form their many eyes and deal with it quickly. Eye Ogres use any sort of large weapon available, they tend to have clubs and a brace of large spears for use at range. Typically, an Eyed Ogre will throw it’s spears and then close in melee with a large club or a spear left in reserve. They have thick, leathery hides that give them some protection against attacks. Eyed Ogres will take shields and armor pieces to use as protection if they can find it. Most Eyed Ogres will have some form of armor or shields made from doors and the like. Eyed Ogres are not cowards, but if they witness a great display of power or a quick reduction of their numbers then they will usually flee.

Habitat:

Eye Ogres prefer rocky regions surrounded by forest. They live in natural caves in the rocks and hunt in the forest below. They have no knowledge of fortifications, their lair will usually be a large open cave. They will usually have wooden racks in the front used to dry meat from their kills. Eyed Ogre lairs will be smelly and messy, they have little concern for hygiene or cleanliness. If they are cohabitation with another race of creatures then they will have separate digs adjacent to their neighbors.

Ecology:

Eyed Ogres live for about 60 years or so. They have mates for their breeding season in the spring.  Eyed Ogre Females give birth to 1-4 young that mature in about 12 years time. Groups of Eyed Ogres are rarely over 40 members, males and females being equal in number. Their society is a basic tribal structure, one strong or smart Ogre ruling the rest. All members of the tribe hunt as a group and share in the collectively gathered kills. They have a preference for humanoid creatures for food but will substitute large game animals if no humanoids are available. They will eat most humanoids, Orks, Goblins, Elves, Dwarves, Humans Etc. Due to this broad diet, they are no on friendly terms with many humanoid “monster” races, especially weaker ones.
