Host: Paul Reiser (He may
not be a game show host per se, but he can interact with the contestants
and move the game along quite nicely.)
Announcer: John Cramer (Gene
Wood's retired now, John sounds more like a younger version of Gene.)0
Format: Two families compete
in a survey game as they try to predict the top answer on a game board.
The family who buzzes in with an answer either takes control of the board
or wait until their opponent gives a better answer, but only if the first
person who buzzed in gives the #1 answer. Play continues in the fashion
of one family member at a time being asked for an answer. If they
come up with an answer on the survey, it flips over and shows up on the
board. If they come up with an answer not on the survey, they get
a strike. Three strikes means the opposing family gets a chance to
steal, and if they come up with an answer, they get points. Points
are awarded based on the number of people who gave the answer each family
member gave. If they come up with another unsuccessful answer, the
opposing team wins the bank. Here is the point value structure for
this version:
Rounds 1-2 - Normal value
Round 3 - Double
Round 4 - Triple
Subsequent rounds: Triple
The first family to earn 300 points wins the game and goes on to "Fast Money"
In "Fast Money," two members in
the winning team compete. They are asked 5 questions, and points
are awarded based on the number of people based on the answer given on
any survey again. The first player is given 30 seconds, while the
second player is given 40 seconds. If the two members of the winning
team together get 200 points, they earn $20,000. The winning family
comes back on the next show and can return for up to 5 times.
