Length: 30 min.
Host: Jim Caldwell.
His personality fits "The Weakest Link" to a T. He means to host
a game show well, but he is kind of a dud. I think he will have just
as icy of a demeanor as Anne does, and just imagine, listening to him misread
a team's banked total is going to be funnier than Eddie Murphy in "The
Nutty Professor." For those of you who don't know, Jim Caldwell replaced
Wink Martindale on "Tic Tac Dough." Then, he went on to host "Top
Card," a blackjack oriented game on TNN. He hosted that show before
it switched to all country music questions. However, why I think
he could handle hosting "The Weakest Link" is because he bobbled a lot
on the questions on TTD. I also was not kidding when I said he might
misread a team's banked total on TWL. I'll show you what I mean;.
"Round 2, team, so far you've banked $500, (Excuse me, Jim, that's $1,000).
He is currently the head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but I would
like him to get out of football, and into "The Weakest Link."
Announcer: Lisa Friedman
(Sorry, but I can't think of someone else who can announce.)
Format: Six contestants compete
in a quiz show in which the host moves clockwise around the contestants.
The object is to answer enough questions correctly to reach their $12,500
target limit. The fastest way to reach that target is to create a
chain of 6 correct answers. Get their question wrong, and they break
the chain and lose all the money in that chain, but, if they think the
next person up is a little too overconfident, they can say the word "Bank."
However, they start a brand new chain. The money the team banks is
added in each subsequent round except the final round aganst the clock.
The first round lasts for 1:45 and 15 seconds come off the clock after
each round. At the end of each round, one person is voted off as
"The Weakest Link," the person who has done the most poorly in the game,
and is treated to the strict words of Jim Caldwell as in "You ARE the weakest
link, goodbye!" Each round is played exactly the same, except the
final round against the clock. In the final round against the clock,
there are only 2 players left and 45 seconds on the clock. Whatever
they bank in that round is quadrupled and added to make up their grand
prize money. In the final round of the game, alternating questions
are asked, best of five. Whoever answers the most questions correctly
wins and is declared "The Strongest Link."
Chain: Exactly the same as
Tim Connolly's Weakest Link Game Control. 12500 + 12500 + 12500 +
12500 + 50000 = $100,000 total.
Possible Zingers: (For a
Valentine's Day special,) "Whose arrow from Cupid has hit the lights."
"Who's the fuzz particle in this peach tree."
Error alert! Now, so contestants
can still earn the standard top prize of $100,000, the prize money banked
in round five will be quadrupled. That way, none of the main rounds
in the game will be dropped.
