John Lee, new co-host of 20/20
John Lee, the newest in the line of 20/20 anchors and reporters is in his
first year of hosting the award-winning ABCNews magazine. After Barbara
Walters's co-host, Hugh Downs, left the airwaves in 1999, Lee has decided that
he might be the perfect replacement for Downs.
He was born in Garland, Texas on March 24, 1983, and at that time, developed
a sense of journalism. He watched several news programs on the major networks
as well as on cable, and would always act out like he was doing the news,
weather, and even sports.

Lots of people have told him that Walters has never heard of Garland High
School, home of the Division II 10-5A State Champions, but he's going to change
all that. After the big win in 1999, the school broke the news that BBC, the
British Broadcasting Corporation, would do a story on Garland High School, but
Lee never heard about that. So, as part of what he wants, in terms of doing a
story on Garland High School, he has asked that Walters do a story on the
school, as well as a story about him.
He lives in Garland, Texas, with his mom, his dad, and his
sister.
