Every
PC has the same basic Components, the ones you'll find in every CP
are;
CPU, Motherboard, RAM, storage
device (e.g. hard drive), and some sort of graphics chip (e.g.
graphics card)
They are all connected together via
the motherboard. And the motherboard is connected to the power
supply. To explain this better a diagram would help.

that's the parts, now what are the parts and what do they do?
The part which you must always have
is the Motherboard, lets start with this.

This is a picture of my MB, the
parts are shown clearly...

This is my motherboard its pretty
modern so it has all the features, and has enough upgrade potential.
The white slots are PCI
connections; for Graphics cards, Modems, Sound cards, and is used
for almost all the upgrades.
The brown slot is AGP slot, only
for graphics cards, the speed varies from 2x to 4x, 8x is under
development.
The black slots of the right, are
for RAM, the ones I have are DIMM, speeds range from 66MHz to
133MHz, 100Mhz as well .
