The Gamma's in our life:
Story: How did we become Gamma enthusiasts.
Little story off how we have become Gamma enthusiasts.
In 1983, I was about seven years old, my father was looking for a family car for daily use. That car had to be, in his taste, beautiful and found two that where taken in consideration. These where a BMW 733i (production year 1979) in a blue metallic color and a Lancia Gamma Berlina (production year 1981) in gray metallic with black leather interior. When he finally decided to buy the Gamma and drove to the salesman the car was only a few hours before sold to someone else. So he bought the BMW which was not bad car.
In 1992 my interests regarding cars in general raised rapidly. At this time my father told me the above story about the BMW, which I still remember, and the Gamma. I'd never seen a Gamma before because there are not that many in Belgium. So we decided to put an ad in a magazine only for knowing how the car, which my father almost bought, looks. After a few days we had an reaction on the ad. This man was more interested in MG than in Lancia but had a Berlina in his possession. He told us he had to buy the Gamma with the bunch off MG's and had no interest in the Lancia so he was standing outside in the rain and still in the man's way. Our first encounter was love at first sight. Since then the Gamma virus never left me and I think my father was already bitten by it in 1983.
Now, in the new "millennium", the Berlina is already eight years in our possession en meanwhile seven Berlina's and one Coupe joined the first one. No Gamma off us is, not yet, registrated but ironically the Coupe probably will be the first one.
