Protean is the trademark discipline of the Gangrel. It allows the user to change part or all of her body into somthing non-human. For example, grow claws, transform into, a bat or wolf, and in its most advanced forms, mist or a spectre. It is also very unlikely that a Gangrel would willingly teach it to another kindred.
Wolf Claws - At will, you can instantly cause long, razor sharp claws to grow from your fingertips. These claws are not easily hidden, so using it among mortals is a breach of Masquerade. When used in combat, these claws do aggravated damage.
Earth Meld - Eerily and effortlessly, you can sink into the earth, easily escaping fire and the sun provided u find an open pach of earth. You can use this to call "Fair Escape"(see LotN pg 128). If used in combat, you must relent, and it takes one round to Earth Meld. It leaves no trace, and only certain powers can detect the hidden vampire(storytellers discretion. This costs one Blood to use, but may return at no cost.
Shadow of the Beast - You are capable of transforming into a wolf or bat. This takes 10 seconds and one Blood. During this time, you cannot do anything else, but you may spend 3 blood to make it instantaneous. This does not alter weapons and other equipment. Also certain Disciplines and Abilities cannot be used.
As a bat you can navigate easily in darkness and use flight to escape most fights. You also get the trait Quick x 3.
As a wolf you can pass as a normal animal to most individuals. You can communicate with other wolves and possibly associate with Garou if they are not too hostile. You also gain the Traits: Ferocious, Tenacious, and Cunning.
Form of Mist - Through rigorous control of your physical form, you can slowly diffuse your body into a fine mist. This takes intense concentration and 60 seconds. In this state you can slip though any structure provided it is not air tight and are immune to physical damage except fire and sunlight. Movement is equivilant to walking, and winds will slow it more or even push you.
This costs one Blood to transform to Mist, and one to return. In this state you may not use physical Abilities or Disciplines. Some non-physical powers may also not be used like Command, Wolf's Claws, and rituals.
Flesh of marble - Your skin has become as hard as stone, but loses non of its flexibility. It is almost impossible to cut, stake, or do lasting damage to you. They must defeat you in three successive tests to stake you(in addition to the Necessary PhysicalChallenge). A character with this doubles his health levels with regart to wounds of a physical nature.
Form of the Ghost - Form of the Ghost allows you to retain your own form and move at a normal pace. Gravity and normal elements(save fire and sunlight) do not affect you. Solid objects have no effect on you, and you may pass through them at will, you may not manipulate objects. This form takes one Blood to enter, and may be left at will. Disciplines may be used as long as they dont regure touch.
