Ready to shake up the joint, members of the Marijuana Party brought their pot legalization message to Citytv's doorstep Friday afternoon. While they admit to being a one issue party, they insist it's a deep one. "This one issue deals with so many elements of life," said Paul Lewin, Marijuana Party candidate for the riding of Trinity-Spadina. "There's fiscal consequence, the taxes the government would get. We'd take money out of the hands of bad guys and put it in the hands of the government."

Lewin also believes that legalized pot in Canada would boost the tourist industry, especially with Americans crossing the border. And there's the benefits to those who use the herb for medicinal purposes. But the pot advocate can't publicly admit that he inhales because he's a lawyer and could get disbarred. There are 73 candidates across Canada for the party, 10 in Toronto. No word whether they serve brownies in their party offices.
