Here are pics from Halloween this year. I went as a sort of gothic vampire chick! I work at Wal-Mart, and got the funniest looks and stares from men and women. I'm an equal opportunity object of attention! The yellow contact lenses were the most expensive part of my outfit. They got the most compliments & questions (those look great; where did you get them; how much were they; stop looking at me, you're freaking me out!).
Here's what I wore, and where I got the items:
To make fake boobies, I cut an old pair of socks in half and stuffed the bra with the upper halves of the socks. I wore the foot halves on each foot, to help cushion my feet from the unfamiliar confines of women's shoes. One could hear my clop-clop-clopping as I walked around the store. I even tried to walk like a woman, but it didn't come naturally. Speaking of naturally, about the only thing I didn't do was shape my eyebrows. I kind of wish I had, and then colored them to match the wig. After all, I even shaved my legs... might as well go all the way!
Here's a group shot of a bunch of my co-workers:
We all had a lot of fun, and probably didn't get as much work done -- I know I didn't! (Or should I say "couldn't," with the skirt and wig hair getting in my face & mouth.) Don't worry, we were all at lunch break when we took these pictures.
About the fangs... I bought a set of fangs, but they were too big and just didn't look right to me. So I used the plastic stuff included with them to make my own fangs. The plastic stuff is one of three ways to attach the fangs to your teeth. I heated up the plastic in hot water, and instead of placing it into the pre-made fangs, I fashioned the softened plastic over my canines. Let them cool off, and that's it. They slide on and off, no need for adhesives or cement. My fangs looked good enough that someone wants me to make her a set. Hey, it's official now: I've customized myself, and soon someone else! ;)
The fangs aren't too obvious in this pic, but the idea was for them to look more natural. My lipstick got all over them no matter how much I tried to clean it off. Everyone said it looked fine, like it was blood on my fangs :)
For those wondering, click here to see a "normal" pic of me. (I look a bit like Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.)
