ROSE GARDEN

The Rose Garden was started in 1952 by the garden club.  It is located at 413 N. Milwaukee Ave. in the center of Libertyville.  Over the years more beds were added, 50 varieties.  The present rose garden is slightly smaller.  Because of it's beauty and location each day hundreds of visitors stroll through the garden.

The Gardeners Of Central Lake County maintain the rose garden, and when needed adds new rose bushes.  Some of the present bushes are 50 years old.  Early in the Spring we uncover the roses, check for winter damage, and replace any bushes that are in poor condition.  During the growing season we fertilize and water the garden, deadhead the bushes, and prune where needed.  In late fall we mound the plants and cover them with leaves.
