The Bird of Paradise

What better flower to write an essay on than the bird of paradise? The
name caught my eye right away, and after seeing a picture of it, I was
intrigued. This flower resembles a bird, almost like a crane, so much
that if you didn't know any better you might mistake it for the real
thing!
The flowers are held inside green, pointed bracts and are coloured a
beautiful bright orange and purple. The flowers only last for one or two
weeks, but while they are in bloom they are astonishing. I myself feel
like trying to chase one, but then again, I wouldn't want to destroy
such a pretty flower.
