Enigquality

I do not understand us.
I do not get the way.
I haven’t grasped the fact
That we are not the same.

Yes, I know we’re "different,"
But doesn’t that make us who we are?
Thinking we are unique makes us similar,
For we are who we are.

However, you keep telling me,
"No, we are no where near,"
And then top it off
With you beautiful little sneer.

So, if we are not alike,
Then who are you?
For I do not know,
If you’re not me in some little way.
So, the door’s over there
and have a nice day.

But I know we have common ground,
It is how we all get around.
None of us are alone,
Even if we want to be.
It is impossible.
An enigma in itself? I must agree.

It is equality.
