Our Own Mystery
An old photograph probably taken in Italy
It now hangs in our living room

Years ago while looking around in my late father-in-laws basement I happened on an old frame. It had glass in it so I drug it out from where it was hiding (for an untold number of years). I wanted to see what it was. As I started cleaning the glass I realized that it was a rather large (18" 36") photograph. The subject matter is a cloister in a monestary probably (more than likely) located in Italy. Even though there aren't any gargoyles in the photo it is a major gothic curiousity. Actually the cloister is Romanesque in architectural design.

I took a picture of the picture and scanned it. It came out pretty good. If anyone out there has serious suggections as to what it might be please let me know by email or guestbook. The photo must have been sent to either my wife's father or grandparents. It was framed here in America (judging from the sheets of Philadelphia Ledger newspaper use as packing).
