Sinclair: "Good morning, Lieutenant Commander."
Ivanova [sleepy]: "Good morning."
Garibaldi: "Nothing personal, but you look like Hell."
Ivanova [sigh]: "I know, I know. C&C woke me up an hour early. They're picking up some unusual tachyon emissions in sector 14. It looks pretty routine, but I authorized Alpha 7 to go check it out, just in case."
Garibaldi: "Sector 14? That's a pretty long haul in normal space."
Ivanova: "Three hours. He should be there fairly soon. [Yawn] God I hate mornings."
Sinclair: "We noticed. Personally, I find it the best part of the day."
Garibaldi: "Me too."
Ivanova: "We all have our cross to bear."
Sinclair: "The time I learned to really appreciate mornings was during the three years I spent being taught by Jesuits."
Ivanova: "Hmm."
Sinclair: "We used to get up at five o'clock every morning for sunrise mass. Then an hour of meditation before class. We would sit... Quiet... At peace... Breathing in... Breathing out... [Ivanova starts falling asleep] Breathing in... Breathing out... Breathing in... Breathing out."
[As Ivanova sleeps, Sinclair and Garibaldi exchange their full meals for empty ones. Garibaldi slams his fork on the table, waking Ivanova in a jolt]
Garibaldi: "Well!"
Ivanova: "What?"
Garibaldi: "That was great. That just hit the spot. [Looking at Sinclair's tray] I see you cleaned your plate too. Guess I'd better get going."
Sinclair: "Me too. It's nearly 7:30."
Ivanova: "7:30? I didn't even -- I slept through breakfast? This isn't fair!"
Sinclair: "Something, Lieutenant Commander?"
Ivanova: "No! Nothing. I'm fine, I'm fine. You'll have to excuse me. Uh, C&C. This is Ivanova [getting up quickly]. I realize I'm late but I'm on my way."
[Sinclair and Garibaldi make the meal exchange again]
Sinclair [smiling]: "I'll notify your next of kin."
[Garibaldi nods with a smile as Sinclair gets up and leaves with his tray]
Garibaldi [counting with his fork in the air]: "4... 3... 2... 1..."
Ivanova: "Oh! Garibaldi!! You're a dead man!!"
Garibaldi: "Mind if I ask you a question?"
Garibaldi: "OK. IT's morning. You're gettin' ready to go to work. You pull on your pants. You fasten and then zip, or zip and then fasten?"
Sinclair: "What kind of question is that?"
Garibaldi: "Well look, we've got two hours to kill."
Sinclair: "Forget it."
Garibaldi: "It's just a question."
Sinclair: "Why do you wanna know?"
Garibaldi: "Why do I wanna know? Because I think of these things sometimes. I was getting dressed this morning. For a second I couldn't remember which I did first. I started thinking about it. Does everybody do it the same way? Is it a left-handed/right-handed thing?"
Sinclair: "You think about this stuff a lot?"
Garibaldi: "yeah. Look, OK. I'm sorry I asked. You're always so serious all the time. Not every conversation has to be the end of the world as we know it."
Sinclair: "I didn't mean to --"
Garibaldi: "Never mind. It's OK. Just watch my console. Don't worry about it."
Sinclair [big sigh]: "Fasten then zip. You?"
Garibaldi: "Fasten zip. [they both smile]"
Sinclair: "How much longer?"
Garibaldi: "One hour fifty-seven minutes. [pause] Wanna talk socks?"
Sinclair [abruptly]: "No."
Garibaldi: "Just a question."
Sinclair: "I am not having this conversation."
Delenn: "In Valen's name I take the place that has been prepared for me. I am grey. I stand between the candle and the star. We are grey. We stand between the darkness and the light."
Sinclair: "Why do you need Babylon 4?"
Zathras: "Zathras tells, you let Zathras go... Finish what Zathras came for."
Garibaldi: "Zathras tells, maybe we don't break Zathras' scrawny little neck."
Zathras: "Great war... Terrible... Ther is much killings. Everyone fighting. A great darkness. It is the end of everything. Zathras warn, but... No, no, no one listen to poor Zathras, no. Great war, but... Great hope of peace. Need place. Place to gather, to fight, to organize."
Sinclair: "You need Babylon 4 as a base of operations in a war. Is that it?"
Zathras: "To help save galaxy on the side of light... So they tell me... Must have... Or it is the end of all. The One leads us. The One tells us to go, we go. We live for The One... We would die for The One. We pull this place through time to save us all."
Major Krantz: "So without this time stabilizer, what happens to you when it [B4] jumps?"
Zathras: "Zathras die... But, Zathras die for cause... Maybe stop great war... Maybe Zathras great hero... Maybe build statue to Zathras... and others come... Remember Zathras."
Major Krantz: "What if we take you with us, put you on trial?"
Zathras: "Zathras not of this time. You take, Zathras die. You leave, Zathras die. Either way, it is bad for Zathras."
Zathras: "Go! Leave me!"
Sinclair: "I can't!"
Zathras: "Go! You must! Listen to Zathras. You have [pause] a destiny. Go! Please! Go for Zathras."
Zathras: "Much apologizing. Mathematics not Zathras' skill."
