The forest gave way gradually to a clearing. In this meadow, at its

centre covered by ages of growth and soil, stood what was once a tomb,

but is now a hill. Inside, a single occupant silently slept away the

ages. Outside a single tree (an institution in our games as we have only

one tree, it has to always make an appearance) grew in the exact centre

of the mound, a homage to he who lay there. A single square of cloth,

the colour of the hero's blood, hung in the tree, strangely unchanged by

the passing of the years. It snapped now in the breeze- the only sound

which came from the clearing.

This scene was has it had been for ages, but on this day, not long

after the sun had risen, it changed. Without a sound, a group of five

riders burst from the trees and raced towards the hill. Black clad,

mounted on black steeds, they stood in stark contrast to the green of

the meadow grass. Behind the marched their leader and his corsairs;

their cloaks of dragon scales throwing the sun back skyward in its

broken spectrum. Together with a small contingent of Repeater Crossbows,

they had come to claim the prize.

They would not take it unopposed. A short distance away on their right

flank, arouse a great hoopla as the broken remnants of Grom's

Waaagggghhh tripped, farted, and belched their way into the clearing.

After his defeat at the hands of the poncy High Elves, Grom was

searching for a way to salvage himself and his Waaagggghhhh. He thought

(amazing for him at this point, he was hitting the bottle pretty heavily

to forget his defeat) that this banner might be the answer.

Unknown to Grom, but visible to the Dark Elves, whose left flank they

appeared on, a group of those poncy skirt wearers commanded by the

world-reknown Bladesinger Tajarl Goldenhawk, had also come.

Yet even this did not complete the gathering as, hidden from the dark

elves by the hill, but in full view of Grom and Tajarl, the last winners

of the Dwarven black and crispy goblin award swore their flame cannon

into position.
