Well, since the introduction of the Realms of Chaos, the forces of Chaos have become quite predictable and far too orderly. While Tuomas did a great job of limiting the 'cheesiness' which before plauged Chaos he also took away a lot of the chaotic character, escpecially from smaller forces. This house rule helps allievate this, while staying true to Tuomas' vision of how to limit the power of Chaos.
Making Chaos More Chaotic
Army Selection- As in the Realms of Chaos, all Warlords must come from
the same list (ie. Daemons, Warriors, or Beastmen) except those chosen
from the Allies allowance.
Retinue Selection- If you choose your retinue based on the rules in the Realms of Chaos, no changes are made. However, each warlord (as listed below) has an expanded choice for retinue troops. However, if the Warlord chooses a troop which is not listed in his retinue in the Realms of Chaos, the retinue must total 150% of the warlord's cost (rather than 100% as in RoC).
Expanded Retinue Selection
DAEMONS
Daemon Warlords- Choose from any troop type available to Chaos except
for Daemons of another god.
WARRIORS
Fighter warlords (Lord, Heroes, BSB, Champion)- Can choose from the
Warrior list, the Beastmen list, or Khorne Daemons (only if the Warlord
is unaligned or bears a mark of Khorne).
Sorcerer warlords- Can choose from the Warrior list, of the Daemon
list. If they bear the mark of god, they can only choose Daemons of that
god.
BEASTMEN
Fighter warlords (Beastlord, Chieftain, BSB)- Can choose from the Beastmen
list, Marauders (mounted, on foot, or in chariots), and Khorne Daemons.
Shaman warlords- Can choose from the Beastmen list or any Daemons other
than those of Khorne.
Note that all other aspects of choosing a retinue apply- ie. If a Daemon
Prince wants to have a Beastmen Chariot in his retinue, he must also have
a unit of Ungor, Gor or Beastigor.
